Winter Warmups

My Ballet Class

In order to keep ballet classwork fresh, you need to change the music fairly frequently, otherwise boredom and disinterest may become a problem.
This freestyle CD music, compiled to suit a standard of Grade 4, or any general ballet class, has 47 tracks of choice for a varied and interesting class. Rhonda Sayer of Rhonvic Brogla Studios, NSW Australia says, “all my students love the music. We use this for our open class work which is a change from their Grade music – it makes them work harder!”

From The Top

In complete contrast to the Ballet music, this CD/mp3 offers 30 challenging tracks with a wide variety of styles for a Tap class or Stage Performance. All tracks are fully orchestrated with timings of 1 ½ to 2 ½ mins.

Many of these popular tunes are tried and tested in my own adult tap classes! Good jazzy warm-ups through to slow bluesy cool-downs – great!

Showcase – Piano Reflections

My latest Expressive All Piano Classical CD is now available: The original compositions were designed generally for ballet class barre and centre work, but are also most suitable for audition entries or stage dances.

Why Piano only? There are many teachers preferring the richer sound of orchestral backing to their music, but also a great many who love to hear just the piano accompaniment to their creations. So students and teachers can step away from the familiar melodies and meet the challenge of something new. The 20 titles were created as a guide in both style and tempo, with the additional timings for those wishing to use the music as an audition or show entry.

Showcase – Dancy Hoppity-Skippity-Spin

I would describe this album Dancy Hoppity Skippity Spin as very happy and fun music to dance to, which is why I chose a title to reflect this. For me musical interpretation is ‘all’ and so when compiling ideas and then composing music to match those ideas, I try to find a different and interesting way of presenting them, using unusual forms of instrumentation to enhance the chosen topics which in turn helps children to identify and interpret dance with original expression.

I also find that experimenting with folk tunes and rhymes, both familiar and new, add a different slant. Its always fun devising a new cd for children, always different, but involves a lot of thought and research. However, this one has been worth all the hours of preparation!

This album is available to order here on CD or as mp3 download.
